Nepalgunj fire guts properties worth millions
NEPALGUNJ: A heavy fire gutted at least eleven shops worth minimum Rs 20 million at Dhamboji Chowk in Nepalgunj last night that broke out due to a short circuit.
Police said the fire destroyed shops of different items and a restaurant as well. The fire started from Sunil Gupta´s mobile phone shop and soon spread to other shops.
Also in Mahottari, two houses were destroyed in separate incidents of fire that broke out at Majhaura Bisanpur VDC-9 on Sunday night.
The houses of Dev Kishan Yadav and Kokawa Yadav were gutted by fire yesterday. The fire gutted property worth around Rs 500 thousand, said police.
Likewise, the house of Kokawa Yadav at the same place was destroyed by fire yesterday evening.
The fire gutted the property worth around Rs. 5oo thousands. The fire was brought under control through the joint efforts of locals and police. The cause behind the fire at Kokawa´s house is yet to be confirmed, said police.
