CA elections worthless if no consensus, Chand says

NEPALGUNJ: CPN-Maoist Secretary Netra Bikram Chand has said that prior consensus in major issues of new constitution should be forged before the CA elections. “Otherwise, the election will be worthless,” he said at a program in Nepalgunj today.

Chand was of the view that the answer as to why the CA was dissolved without promulgating the new constitution should be sought.

He further said that the constitution could be promulgated without holding election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) if common consensus was forged among all political parties.

Formation of the CJ-led government and four party syndicate has pushed the country to further crisis and warned that a grave disaster is likely if the parties continue the present mistaken path, the hardliner leader said.
