Legal hassles main problems for polls date announcement, Oli says
PANCHTHAR: Leader of the CPN-UML, KP Oli, has said that declaring the date for the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) is delayed as there are some legal obstacles for the second CA election.
Talking to media persons at Phidim today, Oli expressed the view that the government should declare the date only after formulating all laws needed to hold election.
Stating that there was no alternative to election to uplift the country from political transition and to draft people-oriented democratic constitution, he suggested all agitating parties including the CPN-Maoist to be responsible by participating in the CA election.
Oli blamed that the previous CA was dissolved without promulgating the new constitution as people, who are anarchist, won the election through rigging.
He expressed the view that all democratic powers should be united in the next CA election to rein in those backing authoritarianism.
