Tarun Dal announces Dolakha shutdown indefinitely
DOLAKHA: The Nepal Taraun Dal (NTD) has announced an indefinite Dolakha district shutdown today to protest the YCL attack on its leader. NTD leader Sanu Sherpa was attacked by the YCL cadres on Sunday after the group of Sherpa, also a contractor, attempted to take away the scrap of the bulldozer.
Normal life in the district is affected due to the strike as schools, market places and factories have closed while the vehicles to and from the district have not run due to the strike.
The Nepali Congress’ youth organization NTD has demanded a stern action to the YCL cadres involved in Sunday’s incident. Charikot, the district headquarters of Dolakha, had remained tensed throughout the day on Sunday after frequent clashes ensued between the side. Dolakaha district is considered a stronghold of the Maoists.
