CPN-UML for protection of democracy: Bidhya Bhandari

BIRATNAGAR: CPN-UML Vice-Chairwoman Bidya Devi Bhandari has said her party was participating in the Constituent Assembly election for the protection of democracy.

At a program organized by All Nepal Women’s Association here today, Vice-Chairwoman Bhandari reiterated that the UML focused more on establishment of peace and strengthening of democracy rather than election result.

Economic and political sectors in the country were bearing the brunt of decade-long conflict and protracted transition, she said, adding that the only solution to the problems was the constitution from the CA election.

The CA election would be meaningful once all parties participated in it, she added.On the occasion, CPN-UML Secretary Shankar Pokhrel urged all parties to participate in the election because the election would free the country from crisis.
