Koirala ready to address demands but no talks on defferal
NEPALGUNJ: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has said that election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) would not be put off even if anybody desires so as the country has now been headed towards election.
Talking to media at his residence in Banke, on Friday, Koirala said initiatives would be taken till eleventh hour to bring the dissenting parties on board the election but the forthcoming CA election would not be put off though the dissenting parties do not come into consensus.
Referring to 33-party alliance led by the CPN-Maoist, Koirala said, “We are ready to meet all demands of the dissenting parties except postponing the CA election date and dissolution of the incumbent government.”
Koirala further said that people would boycott those standing against the election by putting forth nonpolitical and undemocratic demands.
The NC President added that no political party would get victory in the upcoming CA election just by creating illusion as the Nepali people are now more conscious and have evaluated the performances of the parties.
NC President Koirala went on to say that he has not taken decision regarding his candidacy from a fixed constituency though leaders from many districts have urged him to be candidate from the districts.
Koirala also claimed that the party would give chance in the upcoming election only to the active leaders in both the first-past-the-post election and proportional electoral system.
