NC woes Hamal to join his election team

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress is trying to woe top Kollywood actor Rajesh Hamal for contending Constituent Assembly elections from its side.

Party president Sushil Koirala, actor Nir Shah and Raj Kumar Rai on Friday reached out to Hamal with the proposal.

During the meeting, Koirala offered both candidacies- direct or proportional – to Hamal. However, Hamal did not commit on the moment.

While conceding that he supports democratic forces, Hamal promised Koirala of getting back in touch to him later after holding consultations with his industry stakeholders.

Exiting the meeting, Nir Shah however confirmed that he is intending to join Nepali Congress formally.

Similarly, Rai is also mulling on joining Nepali Congress.
