5 kids drowned in lotus pond in Butwal

BUTWAL: Five minors lost their lives after they got submerged in a local pond in Sonbarsha of Raypur VDC in Rupandehi district on Friday evening.

According to the police, they had entered the pond to pick up lotus flowers.

The deceased are Chanda Gadariya Pal (14), Rina Gadariya Pal (12), Rakesh Gadariya Pal (10) Shila Nau and Upendra Nau, according to DSP Deepak Neupane at District Police Office, Rupandehi.

It is learnt that Chanda and Rina are brother and sister.
