NC leader rules out unitary identity federal state

KANCHANPUR: Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak said that single-ethnic state could not be built in a multi-ethnic society.

Inaugurating the office established at Bangaun in Bhimduttanagar Municipality-5 for party publicity of election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) on Thursday, Lekhak said that the first CA was dissolved due to single-ethnic slogan of the UCPN-Maoist.

He expressed the view that the new constitution should incorporate all castes, ethnicity and culture.

Stating that development in the country would be possible only if there is political stability, Lekhak said youths should come forward in the politics for the same.

He further said that all should be united against forces that disintegrate the country, for progress of the country.

Lekhak also urged voters to cast votes fearlessly to candidates of their choice.
