Nepali looted and thrashed near Nepal-India border
BAGLUNG: A Nepali youth was looted and brutally beaten up in Gorakhpur while returning home from Punjab on October 12.
Iswor Sahani, 26, of Malma VDC-7, who had gone to Punjab in search of work around one-and-a-half month ago, was robbed by a group of unidentified people in Gorakhpur while returning home.
The gang robbed him of his cash and baggage after rendering him unconscious with the help of narcissistic drugs while he was waiting for a Sunauli-bound bus near the railway station at around 1:00 AM on October 12.
After looting him, the gang also beat him up. He was found on the premises of Lumbini Zonal Hospital of Butwal after two days of the incident, said his father Lok Bahadur Sahani.
Seriously injured Sahani has several bruises on his body. He has lost his mental balance due to ruthless beating and forceful consumption of drugs. He was taken to Kathmandu on Wednesday for further treatment. He himself had called me from Lumbini Hospital after regaining consciousness, his father said. “My son was coming home. He was looted while waiting for a bus in Gorakhpur,” said his father Lok Bahadur, adding, “I found him on the hospital premises in a semi-conscious state.”
