Dr Wagle passes after a hard fight with cancer
KATHMANDU: Dr Chitra Prasad Wagle, passed away while struggling with appendix cancer at the Grandy hospital in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Dr. Wagle who dedicated most of his medical career in attending the medical needs of rural Nepalese had been struggling with cancer for the past several months.
He passed away around mid day at the hospital where he was being treated at the intensive care unit by a team of doctors comprising of Dr. Subash Acharya, Dr. Simit Sapkota, Dr. Rachana Sharma Basnet and Raju Paudel.
Dr. Wagle was admitted at the Hospital on October 19. Prior to this he was treated in Thailand and India.
The government had awarded him with ‘Excellence in Health Service Award’ as a recognition of his continous service to the people of rural Argakhanchi.
He had recieve financial support for treatement from within and outside the country, in light of his contribution to the health sector.
