“Peace not possible until democratic constitution drafted”

Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala

Nepalgunj: Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala has said that the peace was not possible in the country until democratic constitution is promulgated. Koirala has also urged the voters to provide two-third majority to the democratic forces and an absolute majority to his party for drafting democratic constitution.
Speaking at an election gathering programme in Nepalgunj today, Koirala reiterated that his party will not backtrack from its commitment of drafting the federal democratic constitution.
Arguing that the NC was not in a leading position of the erstwhile CA structure, he attributed the failure of the dissolved CA to deliver a constitution to the irresponsibility of the UCPN (Maoist).
Koirala, who came down heavily against the Maoists during his speech, claimed that the communism including in China will ‘lost its existence from the world in near future’ as the world is observing a wave of democracy.
Koirala also pledged the development of the nation and added that the corruption has become an obstacle for development from taking its root.
Fearing the defeat, he said, some of the parties were trying to trying to disrupt the polls. He also urged the voters to  vote in the CA polls without any influence and fear.
