UCPN Maoists cadres assault CPN UML cadres, 5 injured, 1 critically



KATHMANDU: The UCPN Maoist cadres have been accused of attacking CPN-UML cadres on Sunday night Dhaibung-9, Jibijive of Rasuwa district.

Five CPN UML cadres were injured and one of them has been critically injured. The injured are Chiranjeevi Paudel (64), Arjun Prasad Paudel (35), Sanu Paudel (25), Dev Prasad Paudel (50) and Netra Prasad Paudel (48).

Chiranjeevi Paudel, who was injured critically, was ferried to the Capital yesterday night and has been undergoing treatment at the Kathmandu-based Green City Hospital, according to police.

CPN-UML alleged that their members were attacked by a gang of some 35 UCPN-Maoist cadres with khukuri and other sharp weapons. Deploring the incident that occurred a day before the election, the party has demanded stern action against the culprits.

Meanwhile, police have initiated investigation into the case and manhunt to nab attackers
