Eelection Commission will decide on Kharel’s transfer on Friday



Kathmandu, May 29. The Election Commission (EC) will hold another round of meeting on Wednesday to deliberate the government decision to transfer the chief of Kathmandu District chief Ramesh Kharel.
The Election Code Monitoring Committee of the EC held a meeting on Wednesday to deliberate the issue, but did not take any decision.

According to the  Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav who heads the committee that they discussed the issue and decided to refer it to the EC. On Wednesday, the home ministry had written to the EC that it is preparing to transfer Kharel as he has violated the chain of command in the police and might even influence the results of the by-elections in Kathmandu constituency-2 next month.

Kharel had publicly delivered his controversial speech at the occasion organized by the Hem-Sartia Pathak Memorial Trust,  that the incumbent DIGs are frequenting the residences of cabinet ministers and politicians for promotions. Home Minister Bamdev Gautam had also accused Kharel of trying to become a celebrity.
