CIAA rounds up eight top NOC officials
Kathmandu, May 29. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), today took into custody eight senior officials of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), including Officiating Managing Director Sagar Satyal, for their involvement in illegal distribution of bonus at the loss-making state-owned enterprise.
Others who were rounded up today are: Director Nagendra Sah, Managers Kamal Prasad Sharma, Baburam Rai and Netra Prasad Kafle, Deputy Manager Nawa Binod Pokhrel, Assistant Manager Pradeep Man Wasi and Senior Assistant Devi Prasad Neupane, a CIAA statement issued today said.
Director Sushil Bhattarai and Deputy Director Sharad Prasad Poudel, however, are at large.
“The senior officials of NOC were taken into custody based on complaint that the NOC had extended bonus to its employees by disregarding the Ministry of Finance’s instruction not to do so till the company started generating profit,” the CIAA statement says.
