EC distributing symbols to by-poll election
Kathamandu, June 01. The Election Commission (EC) is distributing election symbols to all candidates of June 22 by-elections to be held in four constituencies of the nation, on Sunday.
The EC is distributing poll symbols to 81 candidates who registered their names on May 25 for the elections in Kathmandu-2, Chitwan-4, Bardiya-1 and Kailali-6 .
The Commission is holding the by-elections after four leaders of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML vacated the constituencies, having secured double victories in the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections held on November 19 last year.
The Commission has informed that it would use electric voting machines in all the constituencies during elections. The voters will also be given an alternative to cast their votes under ‘none of the above’ (NOTA) category, for the first time in Nepal’s election history.
