Two inmates flee from jail

Rautahat, June 01. Two jailbirds, including an Indian national, escaped from Gaur Prison on Saturday. Inmate Mohammad Javed of India fled while he was taken to District Hospital in Gaur for treatment.

Police Constable Shankar Sah, who was deployed to take Javed to hospital, is out of contact, said police. Soon after Javed’s escape, another prisoner Navin Kumar Yadav of Sarlahi fled from the prison in mysterious circumstances. Chief District Officer Madan Bhujel confirmed that two inmates were at large. Javed and Yadav were doing time on drugs trafficking and abduction charges, respectively. DSP Bhim Dhakal said a hunt for the escapees is on.
