NTV chairman Sitaram Agrawal resigns
Kathmandu, June 02. Chairman of NTV’s Board of Director Sitaram Agrawal has resigned from the post today due to expressing dissatisfaction with Nepal Television General Manager Laxman Humagain’s actions onwards to conduct the Nepal Television.
In his resignation tendered to Minister for Information and Communications, Agrawal has charged that as the NTV’s chief executive the General Manager but exhibited lack of clear, transparent and responsible role while running the state-owned television.
Agrawal accused Humagain of being indifferent to him when decisions had to be made through the Board by taking into consideration the organisation’s interests and following due process, and thereby making anomalies and bringing forth a situation for backwash.
He raised concern over the ‘haphazard expenditure’ of Rs 120.105 million that the NTV received from the government through the Peace Fund Secretariat.
