Opposition allies continue House obstruction
Kathmandu, September 10. A Parliament meeting today has been obstructed for the fourth consecutive time .
The house has been obstructed after opposition parties including the UCPN-Maoist protested in demand of the immediate implementation of the four-point pact signed between parties on December 24.
The opposition parties have been demanding the formation of a High Level Political Committee (HLPC). However, the ruling alliance of Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have been opposing the idea claiming that the contentious issues of the new constitution have to be resolved from within the Constituent Assembly (CA).
Last meeting of the Parliament was convened on August 3. After an obstruction, House Chair Subash Chandra Nembang had postponed the meeting till today.
