FNJ demands press friendly-constitution



Lamjung, November 02. The 3rd meeting of the Central Committee of the Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ) has demanded to the government for issue the press friednly constitution on Sunday in Lamjung .

While declaring the seven point demand, the Committee would exert pressure on government and political parties to deliver press- friendly constitution that ensures freedom.

The meeting has decided to organise a three-month long campaign for implementation of Working Journalists Act across the nation. The meeting also demanded that the government distribute its advertisement proportionally. Though the Supreme Court had ordered the government to implement the proportional advertisement policy, the verdict has not been implemented yet.

Thanks to lack of distribution of advertisement proportionally, the small media houses have been left high and dry in districts.The meeting has also drawn the attention of the government to blacktop the road and develop infrastructures in Ghale Gaun.

The report tabled by General Secretary Ujir Magar was discussed in the meeting. While concluding the meeting, Chairman Dr. Mahendra Bista said that the decisions were made in favour of working journalists.
