KATHMANDU, JAN 23 . CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that it was a mistake to hand over the portfolio of the Constitutional-Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee ( PDCC ) chair to the UCPN (Maoist).
Speaking at a press meet held following a meeting of the ruling parties at New Baneshwor earlier on Friday, he said the reason behind the failure to meet the January 22 deadline for a new constitution was the decision to give the UCPN(Maoist) the leadership of the PDCC .
Expressing the determination to promulgate the new constitution from the CA at any cost, leader Oli said the undemocratic and anti-constitutional acts of the UCPN (M) will not last for long.
Nepali Congress Vice-chair Ram Chandra Poudel on the occasion said nobody can stop the constitution from being promulgated through the CA, while adding that the ploy to stop the new constitution had made everyone concerned. Stating that efforts were being made to hold the aspirations of the majority captive by the minority, leader Poudel said the CA meeting shall resume from coming Sunday. – RSS
