A woman killed own 9-year child

Nawalparasi, March 1: A woman at Tamsariya village in Nawalparasi district has murdered her own nine-year-old son on Friday afternoon.

Police Inspector Hari Baruwal said Jamuna GC of Basantpur killed her son Prajit.

The woman strangled him with a shawl before she attempted to take her own life.

According to investigating officers, the woman had tried to kill herself by hanging from the ceiling fan. She survived as the shawl she used had snapped.

The woman is said to have had a heated debate on the phone with her husband prior to the incident. The man is an Indian Army soldier. According to Inspector Baruwal, she threatened during an interrogation to kill her husband too.

The villagers, who went there to call the woman to attend a wedding in the neighborhood, found her lying on the floor. The woman is receiving treatment at a local hospital under police watch.
