5 killed‚ 38 injured in Sarangkot bus accident



POKHARA, March 6: Five people lost their lives during the course of treatment and 43 passengers injured when a commuter bus met with an accident in Sarangkot of Pokhara on this morning.

According to Hari Bahadur Pal, Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kaski, five people lost their lives during the course of treatment at Manipal Medical College.
The deceased have been identified as Dibash Timilsina, Hari Bahadur Khatri, Goma Luintel of Kaskikot, Lekh Bahadur Dhakal and Tara Thapa of Sarangkot, Pokhara-26.

The incident occurred when the bus (Ga 1 Kha 4849) heading towards Pokhara from Kaskikot skidded off the road and fell some 100 meters down the Padheli road this morning said Police Inspector Kedar Rajaure of the District police office.

The reason behind the accident is yet to be ascertained. Police said that they are looking into the case. There were 50 passengers on board the bus.
