Gold‚ silver prices dip



KATHMANDU: March 8: Price of gold and silver tumbled by Rs 100 and five rupees per tola, respectively, over the week — from March 1 to 6.

The market opened on Sunday with gold priced at Rs 51,700 per tola. Its price increased by Rs 300 to Rs 52,000 per tola on Monday. Price of yellow metal, however, declined by Rs 200 to be fixed at Rs 51,800 per tola on Tuesday and continued to free fall till Wednesday.

The bullion price plunged by Rs 200 on Wednesday and was traded at Rs 51,600 per tola and remained unchanged till Friday.

Likewise, price of silver went down by five rupees per tola over week. Silver was traded at Rs 700 per tola on Sunday. Its price edged up by five rupees on Monday and traded at Rs 705 per tola.

On Tuesday, the price of silver plunged by five rupees to Rs 700 per tola. It again plunged by five rupees on Wednesday to Rs 695 per tola. Its price remained unchanged till Friday to close the week’s trading at Rs 695 per tola.
