21 injured in Saptari bus collision



SAPTARI, March 24: At least 21 persons were injured when two passenger buses collided with each other at Trikol-8, Saptari along the East-West Highway on Tuesday.

 

According to the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur, Lalan Gupta of Kanchanrup-1, Tirtha Shrestha of Morang, Chandra Khadka, Kosanti Dhimal, Manish Rajbansi, Rup Rajbansi of Jhapa and Jun Bahadur Rai of Khotang are among the injured passengers.

 

The bus (Na 4 Kha 6975) belonging to the Ujyalo Travels was heading towards Kakadbhitta from Kathmandu when it collided head-on with the bus (Na 4 Kha 3839) belonging to the Munal Travels heading towards Bhairahawa from Kakadbhitta this morning, informed police.

 

The injured have been rushed to the Dharmeshwor Hospital in Paheli for treatment while seriously injured bus driver of the Ujyalo Travels has been taken to Biratnagar.
