Woman kills self in Chitwan

CHITWAN, March 30: A 24-year-old woman, who was reportedly raped three days ago, committed suicide at Dharechok in Chitwan on Sunday.

The victim’s family claimed that she committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of her house fearing social stigma.

The victim’s brother said Mahadev Katawal of Gorkha took her to Pokhara and committed the crime on Thursday.

Police said they have taken Katawal into custody.
