Man shot dead in Siraha

KATHMANDU: A group of unidentified persons shot dead a man at Budhaura Dusgajja of Siraha on Thursday.

According to the District Police Office, Siraha, the deceased has been identified as Ram Shankar Mandal (55), son of Anup Mandal of Lagadigoth-3 of Siraha.

Mandal who was found with gunshot injuries on his abdomen by the locals at around 8:30 pm yesterday was rushed to a hospital in Jayanagar, India.

After the hospital refused to treat him citing it was a police case. He was later taken to the District Hospital Siraha where he succumbed to gunshot injuries at around 11:45 pm.

It has been learnt that he had left his home for India to take part in a programme at around 7:30 pm.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
