Police Constable accused of raping 13yo girl

DIPAYAL, Apr 9: A complaint has been lodged at the District Police Office, Doti stating that a 13-year-old girl has been raped by a police Constable.

Police Constable Kaman Singh Bohara of Baitadi, stationed at the Ghanteshwor Police Station in Doti has been accused of raping the girl.

It has been learnt that Fagune Thapa Magar, the victim’s grandfather had filed a complaint at the DPO.

The victim is the permanent resident of Ghanteshwor-2 of Doti. Though the incident occurred on March 23, the incident came to light after she was found pregnant during the course of treatment at a private hospital.

It has been said that she fall prey to rape while she was heading towards her home. She is a seventh grader at the Gauri Shankar Higher Secondary School.

In her statement to police, the victim said that the policeman raped her in a jungle at around 7:30 pm. “He told me not to tell about the incident to others and if anybody came to know about the incident then he would marry her,” she said.

Following the complaint, police have arrested the accused and has been kept at the DPO, informed DSP Dambar Bahadur Chand.

The victim is receiving treatment at the District Hospital Doti. The accused constable will be booked under rape charge if he found guilty, DSP Chand informed.
