Man arrested in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: APR 11: The Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka on Friday arrested Lila Chhantyal aka Sita Chhantyal, 32, of Myagdi from the capital.

Chhantyal was at large after being charged with misusing diplomatic passport belonging to then Constituent Assembly member Gayatri Sah in 2011.

Chhantyal, who had pasted her photograph on Sah’s passport, was deported from Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates while she was on way to Australia.

She had managed to flee from Tribhuvan International Airport. Chhantyal has been charged under the Passports Act, 1976.
