Thai envoy’s courtesy call on PM



KATHMANDU, APR 17: Thai Ambassador to Nepal, Vutti Vuttisant, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar on Friday.

The duo discussed diplomatic, cultural and financial relations between the two nations, PM’s press coordinator Prakash Adhikari said after the meeting.

Visits by Thai Buddhists to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, in Nepal has strengthened the bilateral ties, the PM told the Ambassador.

Likewise, the envoy Vuttisant observed that the number of Thai tourists visiting Nepal has increased, of late.

On the occasion, Koirala told the Ambassador that Nepal will accelerate pace of development once the nation gets a new democratic constitution from the Constituent Assembly.

The Prime Minister was confident that Nepal will get the new statute very soon, Adhikari said.
