Bungmati Festival concludes

LALITPUR, APR 22: The Bungmati Festival 2015, organised on the occasion of 12 yearly fair of the Rato Machhindranath, the god of rain and good harvest, concluded today.

Speaking at the concluding programme, Minister for Industry Mahesh Basnet stressed the need to promote and protect woodcraft practice to preserve Bungmati’s arts and culture.

The government has been preparing to bring a policy, ‘One Village, One Product’, with a view to promoting and preserving the local production, he added.

During the programme, Minister Basnet expressed his commitment to provide required support from the state to promote Bungmati as a tourism destination.
