Ambulance drivers come out in protest against vandalism

Pathari (Morang), Sept. 12: Ambulance drivers here have decided to not run ambulance service in the Biratnagar-Rangeli road section.

The decision was taken in protest against the vandalism to Ambulance and their drivers by the banda enforcers recently.

We were forced to take a decision to not run the ambulance service unless security was guaranteed after vandalism and physical assault on ambulance drivers increased of late, said Secretary of Ambulance Drivers Association Morang Chandra Parajuli.

The banda enforcers had recently vandalized a Nepal Red Cross Society Morang Ambulance (Ko.1Cha.4265). The incident of vandalism and mistreatment has taken place at Katahari, Karsiya, Rangeli, Darbesha and other areas of Mroang, according to the Association. There are a total of 125 ambulance vehicles in service in Morang. RSS
