New constitution is like a mirror : Chairman Oli

Kathmandu, Sept 21: CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that rights of people in the new constitution are clear like a mirror.

Addressing a programme organised at Tuindekhel today to welcome the Constitution of Nepal, 2072, Chairman Oli said that the new constitution has given special emphasis on making the country modern and developed by maintaining national unity.

He said, “We can fulfill the people’s dream of development through implementation of the new constitution. The new constitution is for all. We should involve all in its implementation with joy.”

Oli said that the Constituent Assembly became successful by promulgating the new constitution despite many hurdles.

Stating that the new constitution has adopted a special policy to bring the backward communities ahead and has ensured formation of a constitutional commission for the development of different communities, the UML Chair said that the new constitution has created a basis to bring all areas of the country into the mainstream of the development.

He said the new constitution was a democratic constitution and recalled the contributions of Pushpalal, BP Koirala, Ganeshman Singh, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, Manmohan Adhikari, Madan Bhandari and Girija Prasad Koirala, among others in the democratic movement.

Chairman Oli said, “Solution can be sought after amending the new constitution by holding discussions if there is any problem of Tarai as well as Tharhut sector.”

He further said that Nepalis have wanted to maintain friendship with neighbouring countries by maintaining the country’s dignity and added that Nepalis can never think against India and Indian government should also think in the same way.

He said, “The new constitution has been promulgated with development, unity, national sentiments and progressive thinking. Let’s welcome it.”

Extending gratitude towards all Nepalis on behalf of his party for the new constitution, Chairman Oli assured that his party would be always devoted for the service of the people and the nation. RSS
