All should accept new constitution: Speaker Nembang
Pokhara, Oct 1: Speaker Subas Nembang has urged the Madhes-centric parties to accept the recently promulgated constitution as it was drafted with hard efforts of these parties as well.
While addressing an interaction on the National Assembly and Chances and Challenges after the Promulgation of New Constitution organized by Reporters Club Nepal here today, speaker Nembang added that 80 per cent constitution drafting works were done by the previous constituent assembly (CA) where all Madhes-centric parties were involving therefore the step of boycotting CA filing dissatisfaction on five-issue was not good.
He added that the new constitution was drafted by taking ownership from the tasks done by the previous CA and it was progressive, people-friendly, inclusive and has institutionalized the republic.
Speaker Nembang pointed out the need of strengthening unity among the political parties for the implementation of the constitution and the constitution could be amended per the peoples’ wish and spirit as well.
He further informed that the implementation of the new constitution would begin from the first meeting of the Legislature-Parliament after the promulgation of the new constitution to be held on Friday.
