Belahiya border point tensed

Lumbini (Rupandehi), Oct 5: Tension ran high at the Nepal-India border point at Belahiya today after the cadres of agitating Madhes-centric parties pelted stones on the police.

As high as 10 security personnel including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rameshwor Karki and a journalist Sharada Malla were injured in the protest.

The agitators had thrown stones to the police by using catapults. Police have arrested some agitators.

However, most of the agitating cadres had run away to Indian sides after the incident. The cadres of the Madhesi Front have been protesting by using the Indian soil for some days.
