International Human Rights Day being observed



Kathmandu, Dec 10: The 67th International Human Rights Day is being marked across the country by organizing several activities on Thursday.

The Government of Nepal being emboldened to the protection and promotion of human rights in consistent with its international commitment has engaged efforts to strengthen human rights regime in the country.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to address a special function organized by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in its office at Pulchowk, Lalitpur this afternoon. Likewise, the Prime Minister has organized a programme at his office, Singha Durbar, today in honour of the institutions and individuals pitching for human rights in the country.
It is learnt that the government has invited top leaders of various political parties, lawmakers, former ministers, human rights defenders and chiefs and representatives of foreign missions in Kathmandu to the ceremony. RSS
