Fires in Saptari, Taplejung
Saptari, Dec. 19: Properties worth Rs 700,000 plus gutted to cinder after a fire broke out from a house of local Lakhan Mandal at Joganimai Municipality-7 in Saptari district last night, police said.
Two houses of Lakhan and his neighbour Sakala Mandal were damaged in the fire, the victims said.
Meanwhile, a fire destroyed two houses at Nighuradin VDC-5 in Taplejung district last night. Police said that properties worth Rs 1 million gutted in the incident.
Property including foodstuffs, clothes, Rs 100,000 in cash and one tola gold was destroyed after the houses of Bhakta Bahadur Gurung caught with the fire.
Rama Maya Gurung, 50, has sustained minor injuries in the incident. RSS
