Bio-gas plants installed in 6,300 houses



Dang, Dec 25: At a time when the entrie country is grappling with fuel crisis, the folks of Dang Deukhuri have explored indigenous source of energy to live up to the daily needs.

Bio-gas plants have been set up in 6,306 households of Deukhuri area to overcome the challenges stemming from current disruption of essential goods mainly cooking gases.
The score of bio-gas users here is on increasing trend. With the installation of bio-gas plants, there has been no effect of continued protests and Indian unofficial blockade on border for people’s livelihood due to fossil fuel shortage. “The disruption of essential goods and supply on border has visible effect in urban areas but no worry for rural denizens here with bio-gas plant in operation”, said locals.
The National Bio-Gas Company has been installing bio-gas plants in Deukhuri since fiscal year 2052/53 BS. The company has so far installed 2,300 bio-gas plants here.
Likewise, the Narti Forest and Environment Multi-purpose Cooperative Organization Ltd has so far set up bio-gas plants in 2,500 users’ households, informed its treasurer Jeeb Lal Khanal. The cooperative organization has been flowing its investment for bio-gas promotion in the area since 2064 BS.
In the similar vein, the Rapti Solar Power and Bio-gas Pvt Ltd has installed 563 households of Deukhuri. As the government has been providing 50 per cent grants of total cost for the set-up of bio-gas, people’s attraction to the alternative energy is increasing of late. RSS
