Kathmandu, Dec 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the country is characterised by territorial, linguistic and cultural diversities and unity in such diversities is its special feature.
Addressing a programme organised by Jyapu Culture Development Trust marking the 12th Jyapu Day here today, the Prime Minister said the celebration of such occasions are highly significant for promoting own culture, costumes, art and identity.
On a different note, Prime Minister Oli said the new constitution of the country has guaranteed the rights of the people of all classes, communities and genders, and that the government was committed towards its enforcement.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister released the commemorative silver coin.
Jyapu Day Celebrations Committee Coordinator Tirthaman Maharjan requested the government for the rebuilding of earthquake-damaged heritages of archeological importance. The Prime Minister and programmes guests were offered ‘Yomari’, a special Newari dish on the occasion. RSS
