Bardiya folks compel to consume water with arsenic
Guleira (Bardiya), Dec 30: Most of the locals of Bardia district are being compelled to consume water with arsenic for no preventive measures in place.
The water coming from tube well and meter-supplied water in the district is found with arsenic.
Bardiya is third among 10 arsenic affected districts of Terai. Though various organizations including Red Cross had distributed filters in the affected districts they have already turned to be dysfunctional, said locals.
Health workers have cautioned that the continuous consumption of such water for 10 years would affect human health with arsenic disease.
