itterateur Acharya honoured with Mithila Ratna Award



Saptari, Dec 31: A Nepali litterateur Nanda Lal Acharya has been honoured with the Mithila Ratna Award for his contribution to Nepali language.

India-based International Maithili Society handed over the award to Acharya amid a programme held on the society’s 12th conference in Mumbai, India on December 23.

A permanent resident of Tapeshwori-1 in Udayapur, Acharya has authoured many books including a play entitled ‘Yug Uchalne Aksharkarmi Ko Awasan’, a children’s one-act play ‘Tulke Didi and Ukhane Dai’ and an essay titled ‘Garima’.

He has also contributed articles in various daily newspapers and magazines. Acharya is currently living in Rajbiraj in Saptari district.

The society has been honouring persons contributing to the promotion of various languages every year since 2004. RSS
