Wind energy project in Kagbeni remains stranded for 25 years

Mustang, Jan 2: Wind Energy Project of Kagbeni, Mustang has been stranded for past 25 years though Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has opined for lessening shedding within a year.

Wind energy has now been proposed as one of the alternative to power shortage that the country has been suffering for long. The project was stranded due to lack of skilled manpower for operating it.
Former VDC chairman of Kagbeni Norbu Gurung said that the project remains stranded due the sheer negligence of the authority concerned.
The engines including transformer for power generating are covered by dust and the building for the project is decaying. The district has a huge potentiality of generating the wind energy. It had been successfully experimented as well.
Similarly, locals are urging the government to operate the project.
