Gachhadar calls on agitating parties to seek consensus through negotiations

Bhadrapur, Jan 2: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Bijay Kumar Gachhadar has called on the political parties agitating in the Madhes to seek a solution to problems through talks and negotiations with the government bearing in mind the sensitiveness of the country.

Talking to media persons today after the field inspection to the under-construction bridge over the Mechi River in Jhapa, Deputy Prime Minister Gachhadar said it was not justice to continue protests pushing the people into trouble and crisis. He further expressed his hope that border blockade imposed by India on the country would end soon.

The Madhes has so far incurred a loss of around Rs 600 billion due to the prolonged blockade and agitation, he said the construction of bridge is expected to complete by the next five months.
