Human resource crunch hindering government works: Minister Sharma



Pyuthan, Jan 5: Minister for General Administration Rekha Sharma has said the government works, including post-earthquake relief and resettlement operation, was adversely affected in lack of adequate staffs in the local bodies.

Speaking at the third municipal council of Pyuthan Municipality in Pyuthan on Tuesday, Minister Sharma pledged her efforts to address human resources crunch and buck wrong trend of civil servant seeking deputation exercising their political influence.

Underscoring reforms and restructuring in the administration sector with federalism coming to effect, Sharma shared the government has prepared a white paper which she believes would address current problems facing the country due to disruption of goods on Nepal-India border. .

Minister Sharma further said that it was a must to recall those government employees on deputation and adjust the postings of employees to ensure public service delivery at local level.

She informed the Chief District Officers in respective districts and the Chief of Regional Administration Offices were granted authority to deploy employees from the offices with overstaffing to the ones with less.

Minister Sharma, also the member of government talks team to hold negotiation with dissenting Madheshi leaders, confided that the latest talks with the agitating Madheshi leaders were moving towards the fruition.
