Nepal expects all sorts of assistance from UN: PM Oli

Kathmandu, Jan 8: Prime Minister KP Oli has said Nepal is looking forward to every kind of assistance- moral, physical and others- from the UN for the overall development of the country.

At a meeting with visiting UN Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman, at his residence, Baluwatar, on Friday, PM Oli reiterated that Nepal was in need of getting rid of crisis, so it was expecting assistance from the global organization. “Nepal is grateful to the support and assistance extended by the UN during the humanitarian crisis here,” said PM’s chief advisor Bishnu Rimal quoting PM Oli.
In response to a query Feltman put forth on the current crisis, the PM said the government was holding talks with all agitating sides with good intent, and with the amendment of the constitution, all these problems would fizzle out.
The meeting was attended by Chief of UN Division at Foreign Ministry, Tara Prasad Pokhrel, foreign affairs advisor to the PM, Gopal Khanal, and Acting Chief of the UN in Nepal Craig Sanders.
