Country should be headed towards path of economic development: Mahat
Kathmandu, Jan 11: Former Minister for Finance, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, has said that the country should be steered towards the path of economic prosperity.
At a colloquium organised by the Management Students Association of Nepal here today, Mahat said that it was necessary to take the country ahead towards the economic path as the country has already got the new constitution.
Mahat, also the Nepali Congress leader, stressed on forging unity among all parties for implementing the new constitution.
Similarly, NC central committee member Gururaj Ghimire said that taking the country towards the path of development was the need of the hour.
Stating that new things have been innovated along with the development of the technology in the world, he pointed out the need of a leadership addressing the new generation.
Likewise, former Vice-Chairmen of the National Planning Commission, Prof Dr Govinda Raj Pokharel, Dr Jagadish Chandra Pokharel, Shanker Sharma, among others laid emphasis on the development of tourism and industry for the economic development.
