340 socket bombs found in Salyan
Salyan, Jan 14: A huge amount of socket bomb was discovered at Korwang Jhimpe VDC in the district Thursday.
A temporary police unit at Jhimpe found 340 socket bombs at Korwang Jhimpe VDC– 8, said the unit’s in-charge Ramji Pariyar. Later, a bomb disposal team from the Bhairav Prasad Battalion of Nepal Army, Salyan, deactivated the bombs.
The security forces have assumed that the bombs could have been hidden by the insurgents during the decade long conflict. It is the first time such a huge cache of bombs was discovered in the district, police said.
