Kalikot, Jan 16: A community library, the first of its kind, is to be established in Kalikot district.
The library would be set up in the district headquarters, Manma. Chairman of Arts Nepal and litterateur Krishna Raj Dhamala said that initiatives would be taken to set up a library to distribute the skills and knowledge.He said that so far a total of 500 books have been collected from Kalikot and outer districts.
A study is also needed for the safeguard of culture of the entire Karnali region which is also the origin of Khas language.
The library shall have the books on agriculture, politics, philosophy and other genres.
According to litterateur Durga Kafle, the library would be brought into operation within a month.
