Thirty quake-hit children provided relief materials



Kathmandu, Jan 16: A total of 30 quake-hit children in Kathmandu have been provided warm clothes and stationery materials.

Minister for Science and Technology Shivalal Thapa and Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Prem Bahadur Singh distributed t-shirt, trousers, school bags and the like to them amid a programme organized by the a non-governmental organization, National Civic Development Society.

The Society, which also organized an interaction programme on ‘Role of the Civic Society for the Implementation of the New Constitution’ feted a total of 30 various personalities.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Chitra Bahadur KC felicitated Dr Harsharatna Shakya, entrepreneur Yadavraj Sharma, Social Worker Uma Karki and religious personality Pawan Neupane among other personalities for their contribution to the society.

Addressing the programme, DPM KC claimed that India imposed economic embargo on Nepal dissenting the promulgation of a new constitution in Nepal.
KC was of the view that Terai should not be disintegrated in the name of delineation of federal province.

He argued that Nepal should learn a lesson from India-imposed border blockade and learn to be self-reliant.

Similarly, Minister Thapa and Minister Singh pointed out the need for unity among one and all political parties for the effective implementation of the new national charter as it was promulgated as per the will of the public.
