Budhigandaki project to be of 1200 megawatt: DPM Rayamahji

Ratnanagar, Jan 16: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy Top Bahadur Rayamahji said the Budhigandaki hydro power project would be of 1200 megawatt capacity.

DPM Rayamahji’s claim contradicts with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who recently during a visit to Gorkha district had said the project’s capacity would be 600 megawatt. DPM Rayamahji stressed on starting the construction of the project immediately to lower power outage load.

At a programme held at Borlang of Gorkha district, DPM Rayamahji insisted the capacity of the project would be 1200 megawatt and urged the locals to be free of the rumours that the project will not be developed.

DPM Rayamahji instructed the concerned to start land acquisition for project to be developed based on a reservoir.
